To date, the Pilot Program has funded over 71 First Nation, Inuit, and Métis guardian initiatives across Canada.

The Indigenous Languages and Cultures Program offers two funding components to eligible Indigenous organizations. The Indigenous Languages Component supports Indigenous communities and Indigenous organizations to reclaim, revitalize, maintain and strengthen Indigenous languages. The Northern Aboriginal Broadcasting component supports the production and distribution of Indigenous audio and video content.

Indigenous protected and conserved areas are lands, waters, and ice where Indigenous leadership is a defining attribute in the decisions and actions that protect and conserve an area.
